Jennifer is a graduate of the University of British Columbia where she completed her Masters in Physical Therapy. Raised in Campbell River, she is pleased to return home and contribute to the community. Jennifer is pursing Manual Therapy education with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and has specialized training in Kinesiology Tape application. Jen uses Functional Dry Needling (or IMS) as part of her treatments. She also has an interest in working with athletes and others to best manage concussions based on the leading research protocols for successful return to sport, school, or work. As a volunteer, Jennifer has worked in Africa and India as part of a physiotherapy sustainability project, training the local people to provide rehabilitation. She has also summited Mt. Kilimanjaro! Jennifer is excited to be part of Active Living Physiotherapy where she can contribute to a team dedicated to ensuring quality, client-centered care. Now back on the island, she can often be found outside running in the trails, surfing in Tofino, and hitting the slopes of Mt. Washington.

Experience
  • Student in the Northern and Rural Cohort in the UBC Physiotherapy program - treated a wide variety of musculoskeletal, cardiorespiratory, and neurological populations across British Columbia
  • Part of a multidisciplinary team working with clients with Cystic Fibrosis at a research hospital downtown Vancouver
  • Over five years of research experience at both the University of Victoria, Simon Fraser University and at the BC Cancer Agency in Victoria. Completed a Masters of Physical Therapy research project focused on the perceptions of telerehabilitation in people following stroke.
  • Passion for global health initiatives – has volunteered in both Tanzania, Africa and rural India.
