Active Living is STILL offering Telerehab (video) Physio & Kinesiology! 


We are open for in-person appointments, but will continue to offer Telerehab via video for those who wish to stay home during these times or are otherwise unable to make it to in-person appointments. This may be due to illness, inclement weather, or feeling uncomfortable pursuing in-person appointments. Choose from either a 30 or 60 minute secure video appointment, with the physiotherapist or kinesiologist of your choice.

 YOGA FOR ATHLETES!


Taught by Martina Forster, Occupational Therapist, Yoga Instructor, Runner and Cyclist, Yoga for Athletes is an 7-week series and will run in-person (max of 8 people) and virtual (2 spots).

Yoga for Athletes is designed for those who are active and want to stay injury-free and targeted for athletes' need for strength, balance and flexibility. All levels welcome; participants must have some previous yoga experience. $130 for 7 weeks.

RUNNING CLINICS


Learn to Run 5k or Progress to 10k! Coached and developed by Robyn Smalley, Kinesiologist and "TheRunningClinic" Certified Professional and assisted by NAASFP Running Coach Certified Amanda Doherty 


Want to learn to run or progress your running but don't know where to start? Commit to becoming a successful runner! Our programs are based on the latest running research and designed to avoid injury, which is the #1 reason running programs fail. Our running programs are a progressive 12 week program with a mix of trail and road runs, with running specific warm-ups, stretches and strength training included. 


Our next Running Clinic starts January 31st, and runs Mondays & Thursdays, 5:30-6:30pm, for 12 weeks (No class Feb 21st)


There is a learn to run 5km option and a progress to 10km option. Runs will take place on the road and in the trails. Learn new trails in a group environment and prepare yourself for any upcoming race, whether road or trail! More education regarding different running topics will be discussed throughout the clinic. Register today!


COST FOR CLASS IS $175+ GST and must be paid in advance to secure spot, by phone or in person. Register with a friend and you both receive 15% off! (Must be able to run 5 minute intervals for 25 minutes to join the 10k program.)

OPEN GYM Class

Need some motivation to complete your exercises? Want to make sure your technique is correct? Open Gym is a pre-registered in-clinic time to complete your exercises with the supervision of Kinesiologist Robyn Smalley. You must have seen a physiotherapist or a kinesiologist to register.


Maximum 4 people in the gym at one time physically distanced and working out in your designated personal space.

Individual programs in a small group setting, led by Robyn Smalley, kinesiologist. Great for people with low mobility, weight-bearing restrictions, chronic conditions, or arthritis. Class takes place at the Comfort Inn & Suites, 1351 Shoppers Row, Campbell River

MOBILITY CLASS SERIES


Are you tight? Inflexible? Wish you could move with more ease? This class series is for you! Join Robyn Smalley, kinesiologist, for some innovative ideas on mobility including rolling, stretching and multi-joint mobility exercises you can do anytime, anywhere!

GLA:D CANADA Osteoarthritis Program


Are you experiencing pain or stiffness in your hips or knees? These may be symptoms of osteoarthritis (OA)


GLA:D Canada is a 7 week education and exercise program developed in Denmark and will teach participants the right way to move to reduce OA symptoms. Taught by Robyn Smalley, kinesiologist and certified GLA:D Canada instructor.

BALANCE AND BONES Class


An 8-week fall prevention, strength and education activity for seniors, led by Edward Lawson, kinesiologist.


Designed to reduce the risk of falls, maintain bone health and prolong independence for the aging population. Exercises will focus on balance and strength. Ideal for those 65+ with independent mobility. Space for 6 in-person spaces. $150 +GST

HYPOPRESSIVES Class Series


Hypopressives is a series of exercises that use the body's fascial system to recruit muscles of the pelvic floor, abdominal wall and respiratory diaphragm to retrain inner core function. Taught by Sonja de Milliano, Registered Physiotherapist and Level II Hypopressives instructor. 


Suitable for women or men with incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, diastasis recti, umbilical or sports hernia; postpartum women; anyone with low back pain. 
Space for 5 in-person spaces. $120 +GST

NEW CLASS!! MOVING WITH PARKINSON'S


Campbell River's ONLY Parkinson's specific exercise class. Current research shows that exercise, along with proper medication can slow the progression of Parkinson's. Exercise will help maintain muscle strength, control and function. 


Taught by Robyn Smalley, Kinesiologist specialized in Parkinson's specific exercise.


Tuesdays and Fridays, 11am-12noon, Feb 1st - Mar 11th

Class will take place at Northwest Shito-Kai Karate Studio, #6-2204 S. Island Highway (corner of Westgate Road)
