Active Living is STILL offering Telerehab (video) Physio & Kinesiology! 


We are open for in-person appointments, but will continue to offer Telerehab via video for those who wish to stay home during these times or are otherwise unable to make it to in-person appointments. This may be due to illness, inclement weather, or feeling uncomfortable pursuing in-person appointments. Choose from either a 30 or 60 minute secure video appointment, with the physiotherapist or kinesiologist of your choice.

HYPOPRESSIVES Class Series 


Taught by Sonja de Milliano, Registered Physiotherapist and Hypopressive Instructor, the class will run in-person (max 8 spots) for 5 weeks. $100 for 5 weeks.


Saturdays, 2pm-3pm Sept 25th - Oct 30th (no class Oct 9th)

Hypopressives is a series of exercises that use the body's fascial system to recruit muscles of the pelvic floor, abdominal wall and respiratory diaphragm to retrain inner core function. Suitable for: women or men with incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, diastasis recti or sports hernia; anyone looking to improve posture; anyone with low back pain.

RUNNING CLINICS


Learn to run 5k or progress to 10k! Coached and developed by Robyn Smalley, kinesiologist and "TheRunningClinic" certified professional. 


Want to learn to run or progress your running but don't know where to start? Our programs are based on the latest running research and designed to avoid injury, which is the #1 reason running programs fail. Our running programs are a 12-week progressive program with running specific warm-ups, stretches and strength training included. Mondays and Thursdays, 5:30pm Sept 20th - Dec 9th. (Must be able to run 10min intervals to join the 10k program.) 


COST FOR CLASS IS $150 + GST and must be paid in advance to secure spot, by phone or in person.

OPEN GYM Class

Need some motivation to complete your exercises? Want to make sure your technique is correct? Open Gym is a pre-registered in-clinic time to complete your exercises with the supervision of Kinesiologist Robyn Smalley. You must have seen a physiotherapist or a kinesiologist to register.


Maximum 4 people in the gym at one time physically distanced and working out in your designated personal space.

Saturdays beginning Sept 11th 2021 8:00-9:00am OR 9:15-10:15am Choose which dates and times work your you!

MINDFULNESS & THE BRAIN is back!


Join Martina Forster, Occupational Therapist, for a four-week series on mindfulness. Learn how mindfulness impacts our brain and nervous system and helps us to better manage ongoing stress. Learn how to establish a mindfulness routine with tools such as meditation and breathing exercises.

POOL (Hydrotherapy) Classes are BACK!


Individual programs in a small group setting, led by Robyn Smalley, kinesiologist. Great for people with low mobility, weight-bearing restrictions, chronic conditions, or arthritis.

MOBILITY CLASS SERIES


Are you tight? Inflexible? Wish you could move with more ease? This class series is for you! Join Robyn Smalley, kinesiologist, for some innovative ideas on mobility including rolling, stretching and multi-joint mobility exercises you can do anytime, anywhere!


Saturdays, 10:30-11:30am, Oct 16th - Nov 20th.

GLA:D CANADA Osteoarthritis Program


Are you experiencing pain or stiffness in your hips or knees? These may be symptoms of osteoarthritis (OA)


GLA:D Canada is a 7 week education and exercise program developed in Denmark and will teach participants the right way to move to reduce OA symptoms. Taught by Robyn Smalley, kinesiologist and certified GLA:D Canada instructor.

NEW!! BALANCE AND BONES Class


An 8-week fall prevention, strength and education activity for seniors, led by Edward Lawson, kinesiologist.


Designed to reduce the risk of falls, maintain bone health and prolong independence for the aging population. Exercises will focus on balance and strength. Ideal for those 65+ with independent mobility. Space for 6 in-person spaces. $150 +GST
